Global Warming Hysteria About Power, Not Planet

sydney snowGlobal warming alarmists must be shaking their heads in disbelief. Just when they felt they had the stars aligned to push their anti-free enterprise/capitalism agenda on the international stage and claim the power they crave, the climate and scientists have begun to turn against them.

Sidney, Australia has snow for the first time since 1836. To put this in perspective, in 1836,  Andrew Jackson was President of the United States, Victoria was a year away from being crowned Queen of England upon her 18th birthday, and Davey Crockett met his heroic end at the Alamo.

Needless to say, it has been a long time since Sidney, Australia has seen snow.

In other news, the Big Island of Hawaii had snowfall in July. Not to be outdone, the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California also had snowfall this July.

Antarctica set a new record for ice extent in 2014, and continues to set records for how much ice covers the oceans surrounding this southern hemisphere continent as 2015 progresses.

And to confuse the science-is-settled-on-global-warming crowd even further, some solar scientists are now projecting that due to changes in the sun’s cycles, the earth is likely to suffer from what is known as a “Little Ice Age” starting in 2030, as the heat-giving star settles into a very rare pattern of inactivity. Imagine their consternation at learning that the sun actually plays a role in the earth’s temperature.

Alarmists are battling the climate record showing an eighteen-year hiatus from warming by changing and erasing temperature data collection to create the results needed to justify their continued funding; the church of global warming is also struggling to explain why the much more reliable satellite temperature data also continues to embarrass them by showing no new warming for almost two decades.

Yet, the Obama Administration pushes on with their attempts to destroy coal-fired electric generation, as well as the misguided taxpayer funding of bird- and bat-destroying wind farms and regulatory schemes intended to hamstring oil-based domestic energy production.

The reason is simple.

The global warming agenda is not about the planet, otherwise world environmental do-gooders would be focused upon the world’s worst polluting nation, China, rather than giving them a pass.

Now, the head of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Christiana Figueres, readily admits that the real climate change agenda has nothing to do with the environment, but instead is about redistribution of wealth stating, “This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history.”

Figueres continued, “This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for the, at least, 150 years, since the industrial revolution.”

So there you have it, you cannot argue climate facts with those determined to twist scientific data to justify a worldwide, fundamental economic transformation toward a socialist model governed by an international body.

The only way to beat this global economic coup d’état is to beat them politically with the first step being to stop taxpayer funding for those who plot our national demise at the Environmental Protection Agency, the United Nations, and elsewhere.

Failure to deny these institutions the political means to enact their plan is an almost guaranteed pathway to their successful collapsing of the free enterprise system along with the middle class that it creates.

    This says it all:

Consider the ultimate leftist wish list that has existed since Karl Marx wrote his Manifesto:

    * Centralized world authority
    * Industry and production controlled by the state
    * Authoritarian forced “redistribution” of private wealth
    * Repeal of individual liberties, including free speech
    * Repeal of personal property rights
    * Establishment of collective economic model

What a coincidence that in one form or another, these are now the proposed “solutions” to this contrived scientific crisis…

Environmentalist Naomi Klein advocates for total destruction of capitalism. She and Bill Mckibben run 350.org, an international group promoting what this article says. They somehow irrationally equate nonsense of “social justice”, “earth justice” & environmentalism. They are more like Fascists.

What about political pragmatism? Islamic taqqiya? Institutional (and individual) self-interest and “self-protection”? Or just moral relativism, in general? Man’s willingness to lie to others is only surpassed by his determination to lie to himself, so that lying is endemic in all human populations. I was just blithely defrauded out of a LOT of money by an auto shop I have gone to for many years, run and operated by a family; you think they don’t have a philosophy that allows them to do that, easily, when they feel the “need”?

And “All’s fair in love and war.” Claim you’re at war with “barbarians”, or “troglodytes”, or etc., and you’re in the lying business to the bitter end (and it WILL be bitter).

The problem is simply deeper than Left vs. Right or Communism/Socialism vs. Capitalism (although that is the immediate problem, with radical activists in power). A general scientific incompetence, across all the earth and life sciences, is very much to blame here — and even that is not the most fundamental problem. The underlying problem is the ascendance of dogmatic reactionary thinking over good, honest reason in our time; the relevant dogmas include ones both ancient (e.g., Islamic jihad) and modern (in particular, the undirected evolution paradigm, which has led to false science across the board), and their common characteristic is that they are all ineluctably divisive (basically in the “we are holier than thou” vein) and all misdirecting from finding the truth, the reality that must be faced to have real progress.

Harry, you seem to find complexity where there is none. Is it done to obfuscate, hide the problem so that the argument could thus contend there is no problem ?

The funny thing was I has someone from NZ way back talking about global warming with respect to the Hudson Bay ice as proof, that it was the earliest it melted. The Hudson Bay isn’t in the Arctic, but that point flew over his head, and not so long ago they needed to divert the Icebreaker CCGS Amundsen from it’s scientific mission of most likely by these same believers to do what again in the Hudson Bay? Yeah, like Climate Gate they push that away or just barely mention it.

And when Climate Gate hit the scene, what was it the LSM was reporting? Tiger woods nonstop and his accident and all the affairs he has and on and on and on! A distraction was all it was.

Wha??? Please specify what “rumor” you are referring to. This article has many points: Sydney has snow, Obama wants to close coal plants, Christiana Figueres admits that climate change is not about the climate, Antarctic ice is at a record, and more. Most of the points (but not all) are verifiable facts. Specify what you are questioning and someone hopefully can provide the source.

I’ve just noticed an upturn in straight out lies being peddled by so called “skeptics”, it damages the narrative to have blatant misrepresentations of the truth being churned out by “allies”.

The article even has pictures showing snow, what more would you need in this context. if you need more details, still not convinced, click on “source” at the bottom of the article and send a message to the author to show his source.

Fred, neither of the linked articles directly say it snowed in Sydney. The captions under the pictures list an area other than Sydney. A common thread of all the articles I’ve seen say something like “In Sydney, the city had its coldest average minimum temperatures for July since 1971 with most nights hovering around 7 degrees”. This would indicate an unusually cold event, but I cannot find an article saying it actually snowed in Sydney. Here’s another qoute: “Heavy snowfalls over the central ranges all the way up to New England are causing traffic chaos on NSW roads, while Sydney endures another cold day”.

It sucks when someone has never been there saying this right? Well how do you think we feel when when you pricks do the same? Just for the cause. I have been to Alert and Eureka, it was put there for a reason. And it wasn’t because it would be a frozen desolate place.

No snow on the Opera House, but close enough. Point is, it’s bloody cold down under, something the warmers proclaimed too often could never happen….. Sydney is a very large spread-out area and some of the outskirts must have been touched with the white stuff. Hard to point on a map where exactly the city of Sydney ends and where the surrounding towns start. If you have ever been to Sydney, you know that driving from end to end will take hours. It is like Vancouver, BC, Canada, a city of 700,000 but surrounded by Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond, New Westminster, Surrey, Langley, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam… one big happy family under the Greater Vancouver District Umbrella of 2.5 million. When it snows in Burnaby, for outsiders it means that it snows in Vancouver.

It was snow in the hills around Sydney. The main highway between Sydney and Melbourne just south of Sydney was cut for the first time ever by snow. As a local of Sydney myself, I can tell you that its very unusual. Maunder minimum Mk 11 perhaps – aka global cooling…..
